Overview:
The Medical Assistant will work under the supervision of a physician to assist Lakeview Psychiatrists, APRNs, and support staff to assist clients in Adult Psychiatry. The Medical Assistant will take, monitor, and record vital signs, assist with prescription refills, injections, perform lab tests (blood draws, U/A, etc), EKGs, and support the medical providers. The Medical Assistant will establish a collaborative working relationship with the Psychiatrists, ARNPs, and support staff to support a comprehensive system of care. The Medical Assistant is responsible for but is not limited to: Establishing and maintaining a positive helping relationship with person receiving services at Lakeview, ensuring the safety of the person receiving services and implementing specific interventions according to the person’s treatment or service plan.
Role Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be a Registered or Certified Medical Assistant.
- Strong organizational and time management skill.
- Must be proficient with operating general office equipment.
- Must have knowledge of and comply with state and federal statutes, rules and policies that effect the target population.
- Must be able to provide individualized, integrated mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring services to meet the needs of individuals served and their families.
- Must be able to use a computer.
- Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
Compensation:
Base pay ranges from $17.50 - $19.08 an hour based on experience.
