Job Description
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing services and patient care in variety of settings. This position follows established nursing process, including patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. This position ensures adherence to hospital or department policies, and nursing procedures, standards, and practices. Manages individualized, goal directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and Hospital policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, to ensure total quality care.
- Manage complex clinical situations and anticipate pending complications for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Evaluates problems, care provided and ensures that patient's responses are re-assessed to meet patient and family needs to assure overall quality of care delivered.
- Possesses and utilizes proper sterile technique and isolation procedures when appropriate.
- Assists in the administration and administers various medications under the direction of a physician.
- Displays superior interpersonal skills with patients and peers.
- Must be available for on call status, as needed, after normal operating hours.
- Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure.
- Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
- May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters
QualificationsMinimum Education- Technical Diploma/Certificate in Nursing OR associate's degree in nursing Required Upon Hire.
Licenses and Certifications- Registered Nurse in the State of Florida Required Upon Hire.
- BLS American Heart Association Required Upon Hire.
- NIH Stroke Certification Required Upon Hire.
- ACLS American Heart Association Required within one year of hire.
Minimum Work Experience- 2 Years Acute Care Nursing Experience, required.
